Backyards are underestimated in their ability to offer something to paint. Year-round there’s opportunities that blossom and die back that show us their beauty as long as we’re looking. This is right outside my new studio window. It taunted me throughout early spring until I couldn’t take it anymore.

This is a rare bird. I’m actually happy with the lighting in this one. Lucky me.
