If you’re looking for this book I’m sure you’ll be disappointed to know you’d have to fly to Italy to get it. Though…there could be worse fates. My friend Alessandro Micelli hooked me up with this Kirby-Inspired project.  Of which, I was honored to get 6 pages to do. Seems like I got the most pages of anyone and was able to endcap it all on my own. There’s a lot of great art in here so I’m pleased to be in such great company. You can see the pages I did here.

My favorite page from the project was where I got to draw Lucifer as a kid.

All five issues are now available for digital download at COMIXOLOGY. I know when I reread the book it was far easier to absorb the entire story in one sitting than through single monthly issues. It was a lot of fun to create and even more for to read.

I hope you try it out and if you like it write a review, pass it along and recommend it to a friend.

Also while you’re at it they have the one MARVEL COMIC I worked on a while ago 1 Month 2 Live on there as well. Which BTW I actually got some royalties on after it’s initial launch. Just enough to take the wife and I out on the town. Pretty cool, huh?

I had great fun putting this commission together for a recent client. He had wanted a steampunk version of Spiderman and since just showing Spiderman wasn’t going to be terribly interesting to me I thought adding the Green Goblin would up the ante. I had him re-engineer an old Mr. Punch mask to give him more goblin appeal as well as decked him out in 19th century privateer garb.

Thanks to those who’ve  spread this image around. Seems like a lot people dig it for some reason. And I concur with the few out there, “WHY ISN’T THERE A STEAMPUNK SPIDERMAN BOOK?” They won’t know unless you ask.

Finally, I have a sketchbook! 30 years in the making…well if you want to be literal I suppose. The quest started with finding the perfect printer for the right price. Actually it started with friends cajoling me to put something out. Then to find a printer. Ever since Mike Mignola dropped the gauntlet for sketchbooks at San Diego Comicon years ago it’s been a growing part of every comic artist’s arsenal of goods. In that time there’s been a lot of excellent books and a new found collectible market.

Luckily I found a printer who I absolutely love and the books look and feel really expensive. The reality is you get a lot for $10.

They’ll be debuting at Emerald City Comicon but you can order them in my store today. Maybe you know someone who’d like this if so TWEET it LIKE it or do what you have to to get the word out. And for a convincer here’s a small selection of DOUBLE-PAGE spreads to wet your whistle.

It’s no secret that the EMERALD CITY COMICON is one of the very best shows in the country. I’m just lucky it’s in my hometown and I can sleep in my own bed every night…unless there are better offers out there. HEY-YOOOO…ahem. You just have to fight my wife for the timeshare.

Anyway…I’ll be sketching and selling goods, books and services all weekend long! It should be great fun as always and I look forward to seeing you there!

I was asked once again to provide art for the Jet City Comic Show flyers. This time it was a little different as they wanted to include more familiar characters. It was a fun change but I still wished I could have made the flying nazi apes bigger.

And of course I’ll be at the show later this year. Should be fun as usual.

Looks like this cover for Hack/Slash #14 came out today. I’m thankful that it printed well and that Tim Seeley gave me a chance to try my best digital rendition of a Reynold Brown-inspired monster movie poster.

I just got the word that the Ridley Scott produced PROPHETS OF SCIENCE FICTION on the Science Channel this Wednesday will have a few sci-fi pieces that I did. It’s for the ISAAC ASIMOV portion of the show. Hopefully you’ll get to see the above illsutration it in all it’s glory…as well as another piece. Should be fun.

I did exactly what I didn’t want to for the “relaunch” of my site…which is to disappear into thin air! Part of the problem is I took on a new contract gig around the exact same time this site went up. Also I had two or three things in the cue of work to be done around the holidays. A blizzard of crazy hit and I’ve been digging out of it ever since. Hopefully I can get onto a routine here now that I’ve knocked a few items off my list.

Still not out of the woods yet…but I’m working on it. I’ll be hopefully talking about some new product here real soon. So subscribe and stay tuned as things start to take shape.
