Here’s another Ink Style. I really enjoyed doing these. What better way to cross-compare different approaches to inking by using the same base. =s=

Less than a year ago, I was finally able to knock out this illustration for one of my favorite comic shops, ARCANE COMICS & MORE. Recently they had one of their other customers make a door wrap out of it.
Despite my fat head being in the way I think it turned out pretty well.
I drew it 1:1 scale to the door using Manga Studio 5s vector tools. Unfortunately, I had to convert it over to a Large Photoshop Document file to even save it. Live and learn I guess, but in the end the final image turned at quite crisp. I’m more happy with the results of the printout than the actual image. But that’s a whole other kettle of doom.
Finally back after a brief hiatus and recuperation from my December Kickstarter. Oh, yeah, in case you didn’t know the book got funded! On that end things are progressing along nicely. I receive the dummy of the book next week before the printer puts it on the schedule.
In the meantime, BRAUN #1 is now currently available on COMIXOLOGY for a mere $1.99. If you like robots, girls and destruction, you’ll probably dig this series. It’s a layered action story with mystery and suspense. Not your typical sci-fi experience.
Anyway, if you buy it, review it, throw up some stars and spread the word.
So we’re in the home stretch of my BRAUN KICKSTARTER. Seems like only yesterday I punched the shiny green GO! button. And man, has it been interesting. I can’t wait to do a wrap-up. But not knowing the outcome it can go one of three ways. But that depends no you.
Pledge and get a killer 200 page over-sized graphic novel with a thrilling story of mystery and adventure. We’ve also got loads of sweet merch: limited edition sketch cards, iron-on embroidered patches, t-shirts and original art.
With Christmas so near I even have a gift certificate you can print out at the bottom of the KS page. Hit the link and you’ll be showing a loved one you know about their uncanny taste than even they do.
Please, consider it and join the scores of backers who have already done so much to support this effort.
Not sure if this is something people need let alone want. But I was thinking of making giclee prints of this early version of BRAUN painting. The painting is 16″ x 40″ but I’d probably shoot for something much smaller. Maybe 8″ x 20″ or so.
What do you all think?
