Here’s the first of many videos in a series I’m calling THE PROCESS. It’s going to be a journey of a thousand steps that I hope you’ll take with me. It’s not just about tutorials and how-to videos. It’ll be about some of the real world questions and answers to style, creative-thinking, problem-solving and paths […]

It’s been awhile since I’ve inked anything traditionally. No excuse really, just busy doing other kinds of art. But this was something I’d been working on over the past couple years. Part of the problem with that is there are areas that failed and succeeded thus making the piece a bit unbalanced. Still, the goal to see how delicate lines contrast with thick expressive lines works.
In that, I think I have the information needed.
A little over a year and a half ago I was contacted by Dynamite Entertainment to do a 12 page story for the first issue of PATHFINDER: GOBLINS. It was written by Erik Mona whom I’d never heard of before. I really dug the script and had never tried drawing a fantasy-based story before even though some of my early work was in the D&D manuals of the late 90s. Overall, it was a different take on the characters and world which garnered mixed reviews. I had fun, and really that’s all that matters when you’re doing any work.
Here’s a link to find EIGHT more pages in the COMICS section! And apparently they’ll be a hardcover coming out sometime soon. So, if you want to see this in color and have a nice coffeetable book, chat up your local comics shop.
About a year ago I was contacted by my friend Jeremy Haun who wanted to know if I would be interested in drawing a story that he was writing for Bad Karma Vol. 1. I’d heard him and the rest of the gang talking about this anthology project for quite some time. But now it was actually starting to really take shape. Gladly I accepted, since it was a short four-page story. I didn’t realize it would end up being the lead story in the book. Maybe that’s for the better, so I wouldn’t sweat the details too much. It was fun to do and was a nice break from coloring to get back to drawing and inking. But those damn drafting tables…sheesh.
I put these all up in the COMICS section if you ever want to go back and check them out.
I should have some more stuff to post real soon, too. Happy Labor Day.
